PLEASE NOTE:

All Meetings and Felt Frenzies are held at St. James Hall, Cnr Burke Rd. & High St. Glen Iris. BYO Lunch.

Members' meeting  are held every second month.  Members arrive from 9:45am to browse through our fibre shop, library, borrow equipment and shop at pop up stalls.  After BYO lunch and "Show & Tell", where members share their latest felting projects.  The beginners workshop will be started at 1pm.

​Felt Frenzy Day will take place in the alternate months between members' meeting.   We   will now have a short demonstration of various techniques by our talented members at the beginning of the day at 10am. Non-Members are welcome to join us for a one-off free attendance (observation only). Please make sure you fill in the Registration Form mentioning that you are a non-Member.

21st November -  ​  Felt Frenzy and Skill Share Demonstration

Our member, ​Jill Preston, will share creative ways    using felted scraps to make Christmas decorations and other items.

In this Frenzy, participants are invited to bring felted items they have made which use small partially or fully felted pieces to share ideas. Examples might include glasses cases, decorations or brooches.

Jill will also demonstrate 2 Christmas decorations: one made with small felted pieces which are sewn together and the other which uses either pre-felts or wool. This is expert felt-maker Nadia Rein’s free Christmas tree PDF which you can access at her website Nadia Rein Design, if you want to have a look before the Frenzy.

Materials required:
- A variety of partially felted pieces/pre-felt scraps from unfinished projects at least 6 x 4 cm up to 30 x    40 cm in a variety of colours and some in colours that reflect Christmas for you;
- Small amount of merino wool tops in a variety of Christmassy colours;
- Yarn, silk pieces, vegetable fibre and silk fibre, other small decorative pieces of scarves to felt onto the wool;
- Small amount of old wool tops for stuffing decorations; and
- Sewing kit, scissors and embroidery thread.
